EARTH DAY SPECIAL WEBINAR

An online talk was conducted on 25 th April, 2021 as part of the Earth Day observation, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm through the Google Meet. It was organized by the Department of Geography of Government College of Teacher Education, Thiruvananthapuram in collaboration with the Council of Teacher Education Foundation, Kerala. The theme of the webinar was ‘Living for Nature, Living for Us.’ The resource person of the talk was Dr. Suresh.K.J., Former Associate Professor, NSS Training College, Changanassery. Dr.A.V. Sujith, Vice-Principal and Associate Professor in Geography was the coordinator of the programme. The whole programme was anchored by Aranya. S.S., First Year B.Ed. student in Geography. The programme started with the prayer song by Ashmita Stanley, First Year B.Ed. student in Geography. Vishnu S Nair, First Year B.Ed. student in Geography, delivered the welcome speech. Our Principal, Dr.Rajeswari. K. gave away the presidential address and inaugurated the function. Then, the resource person delivered an excellent talk on how human activities have affected our Mother Nature and how the consequences added to the Covid-19 pandemic situation. He showed mind-blowing pictures and videos all through the webinar. He also recited few poems on Man and Nature, which added more charm to the programme. After the talk, Felix L, First Year BEd student in Geography, proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the Department of Geography of GCTE, Thiruvananthapuram.

                           TEACHER ORIENTATION PROGRAMME    A Teacher orientation programme was conducted on 19th and 20th January, 2021. It was the first major programme for B.Ed. Batch of 2020-22 session. The Orientation Programme was a two day teacher training introductory programme. The function was titled as ' TEACHER'. The aim of the programme was to create competent and unique teachers. It was organised by the IQAC and the Placement Cell of GCTE, Trivandrum. The programme coordinator was Dr. Issac Paul sir, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The Chief Guest of the Programme was  Dr. Asha. J. P., Dean, School of Education and Professor, MG University, Kottayam, inaugurated the programme. Our Beloved Principal Dr.K.Rajeswari teacher delivered the key note address. Dr. V. K. Santhosh Kumar sir, IQAC Coordinator, gave the vote of thanks.

Topic selected for the conscientization programme is "cardio respiratory endurance through excercise" Ashmita Stanley provided technical and non technical support for the conscientization programme
